It operates 2,429 pubs and restaurants across Britain, including the well-known Loch Fyne chain and pub brands Hungry Horse and Eating Inn. It also brews IPA, Abbot, Old Speckled Hen and Belhaven Best, the No.1 ale brand in Scotland.</image:caption>

      <image:caption>Lucas Bols, owner of the Galliano brand, wanted to revitalise the brand’s image using its classical Italian heritage to promote the relaunch of the original liqueur with its complex herbal flavours. The brand was repositioned around the idea of ‘Spirito Italiano.’ A brand story was developed that drew both on Galliano’s history and Italy’s distinctive sense of flair and style.</image:caption>

After a comprehensive brand audit and inspired by a new business strategy – to reposition with mass market appeal but with the aesthetics associated with more prestige brands – the famous old logo was redesigned and a more contemporary brand identity was created.</image:caption>

      <image:caption>Statoil, the Norwegian state-owned oil company’s strategy was to develop as a broader energy company. The name change to Equinor was designed to signal that transition. The Equinor name is divided in two: The first part originates from words such as ‘equal’, ‘equality’, and ‘equilibrium’. This reflects values such as equality and balance. The second part, ‘nor’ signals a company proud of its Norwegian origins.</image:caption>

      <image:caption>The AFC Asian Cup is the regions premier national football competition. The 2023 AFC Asian Cup was the 18th edition, staged in the same stadiums as the FIFA World Cup in Qatar. It involved 24 national teams, from Lebanon and Iraq in the west, to China and South Korea in the east. The AFC’s brief was to develop a tournament brand on a par with Uefa’s EUROs, signalling the rise of football in Asia.</image:caption>

      <image:caption>The rebrand of Diageo began in August 2021 at Comprend — Diageo’s digital agency. I was brought in as a branding expert to build a brand team for the project. The old corporate identity was just that, a basic and limited graphic identity with no strategic brand idea at its core. Global Brand and Communications Director Dominic Redfearn and Jeremy Lindley, Global Design Director, formulated a brand vision and creative brief for a comprehensive rebrand. The only untouchable asset was the logo.</image:caption>
